For the six cylinder Solara, premium fuel is recommended. The four cylinder specifies regular. That said, you 'can' run regular (87 octane ron/mon) in the six cylinder. The engine control computer will detect any pre-ignition that might be caused by the lower octane fuel and will retard timing or make other adjustments until it stops. There's a price for this. Retarded timing generally means less power and higher fuel consumption so you need to carefully weigh whether you're actually saving money by using slightly cheaper fuel. Cheers
V6 is a non-interference engine.
The V6 would be ( 6 ) cylinders
In upstate NY it's about $500-600.
The 2001 Toyota Solara SLE uses R-134a refrigerant for its air conditioning system. It's important to ensure that the system is properly serviced and any leaks are fixed before recharging with refrigerant. Always follow manufacturer guidelines and consider consulting a professional for servicing.
It would help if you were a little more specific. What year, what model, hard top or convertible? My 2004 (gen II) Solara Convertible SLE weighs 3615 pounds wet. The hardtop is a couple of hundred pounds less. Obviously the Solara is no lightweight. Cheers
what about it? there is one on the roof. as well as one on each fold down mirror. there may be map lights in the SLE model.
belt, 2.4 4cyl has chains, 3.0 or 3.3 v6 uses belts
There are two engine choices available for the Gen II Solara. The 4-cylinder 2AZ-FE and the 6-cylinder 3MZ-FE. For some models, the SLE convertible for example, the 3MZ-FE is the only choice. Cheers
The answer is on page 330 of the 2006 Solara owner's manual. It's also on the driver's side doorsill and on the tire sidewall itself. P215/55R17 93V Wheel size is 17X7 Cheers
Yes. If your timing belt breaks the valves and pistons 'will' come in contact with each other and you 'will' have to dig deep into your bank account for repairs. It's best not to tempt fate and replace the belt as recommended at 90,000 mile intervals. Cheers
The gas tank capacity for both the generation 1 and generation 2 Solara is 18.5 gallons.
I am not entirely sure. However i recommend using the computers at a store that sells battery or looking it up in your owners manual. I do know however that the battery on my 2001 has 700 cold cranking amps and it is what is recommended. I could find the exact model number and size of that battery later.
