A Series of Unfortunate Events books are sort of a mystery. They are the type of books that make your brain REALLY REALLY REALLY think. In some of them there are secret V.F.D codes you have to find.

Then, in the last book, there's some sort of an additional thingy called "Chapter Fourteen" that is really not supposed to be "Part of the book". And there are other books that explain some parts of the story. They are called "The Beatrice Letters", "The Unauthorized autobiography", "The Puzzling Puzzle" and "The Notorious Notations". There are other books Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket) wrote, that maybe mention some things about the story, and you can find them all in his web page.

In short, as of Dec. 1, 2008, it's about 50/50 whether there will be a second film. I loved the books and the film, so I'm hopeful.
