Canadian's were a great asset in WW1 for example Vimy ridge was Canadians greatest accomplishment during WW1. it was a almost impenetrable defense for Germany for it was a hill surrounded by plains giving Germany a huge advantages. but with a strategic attack formed by only Canadians and followed through by them we took the ridge. this achievement was tried by all the other countries in the allied forces but all had failed other then Canadian forces. this victory also was the turning point for the war and paved the way for the victory of WW1. of course being Canadians they were under the British rule and were forced into some of the most brutal battles like battle of Somme, Battle of Ypres, Battle of Passiondale. as the tough and strong soldiers they were they stuck through it all.
