The guide that brought the King Herod's magi (aka wisemen, advisors, astrologers, etc.) east, to Jesus in Jerusalem, is known as The Star of Bethlehem (or Christmas Star). When Jesus was born, this star marked the location of his birth.
Reference: Book of Matthew: Chapter 2 (see related link below)
Mathews gospel says Astrologers from the East are guided by a star to Jesus. Actually it's interesting reading because the star features on most peoples Christmas tree.If you read the account closely you wil see that the star first guided the astrologers to Herod who wanted to find Jesus and kill him. Then the star guides them to Jesus. After visting Jesus God intervenes and warns them not to return to Herod.
They were wise men or astrologers from the east. They came looking for a king of the Jews.
the star
As astrologers, they were wittingly or unwittingly led by what appeared to them as a moving "star."
The star reminds us of the star that led the three astrologers to track down Jesus to kill him.
jesuses birth
1.He guided them. 2.He taught them. 3.He loved them.
According to biblical text - they were 'led' by a star.
It won't ever be truly proven.
according to Biblical accounts, when the wisemen were looking for Jesus they did in fact follow a star that guided them to the manger where Jesus was born
Yes examine history and you discover that astrologers have been wrong as much as they have been right (an ininformed guess is as good as an astrologers prediction).
It must be probably the Greek Tris Maghi (Τρείς Μάγοι=three Magicians(astrologers/astronomers)that stands for the 3 Magi who visited Jesus Christ right after his birth.
