What happends if you hold mercury?
It spills in your hand, then in a couple of minutes you die from inhaling it too much
Because mercury doesn't have and atmosphere it isn't able to hold on to the heat from the Sun. So at night Mercury gets VERY cold. Venus has a very thick atmosphere and it is able to hold on to its heat. Mercury: all the heat escapes because it doesn't have a thick atmosphere Venus: has a thick atmosphere and it is able to hold no to the heat unlike mercury
Earth is farther from the sun than Mercury and Venus, and so recieves kess energy from the sun. Compared with Venus, Earth also has a lot less carbon dioxide in its atmosphere, so it does not hold heat as easily. Since Mercury has almost not atmosphere to hold in heat, the night side of the planet is actually extremely cold.
