ANSWER:The BIG BANG came out and played. Since the big bang is a theory, any answer to a question of theory would also be theory, assumption or speculation. ANSWER:The universe formed, along with the space time in which it exists. Expansion and a general reduction in the energy density (read: cooling) permitted matter to form and the universe we know to begin to take shape and expand - which it is still doing.

Wikipedia has a nice post on the time line associated with the Big Bang. A link to that article can be found below. Why not surf on over and check it out? Knowledge there is provided for free. Help yourself, and do all you can do.

The Universe continued expanding. It is still expanding today.

Since the Big Bang the universe has been expanding all the time. The hydrogen and helium from the Big Bang formed nebular which formed stars. Some of these stars were big enough to undergo more thermonuclear fusion (after their hydrogen nuclei has been used up) to form heavier elements (all the other ones on the periodic table). These elements formed compounds that form the planets, asteroids, rocks (and every thing that isn't made of only hydrogen and helium).

They can't well have formed before the initial explosion, when all matter in the Universe was concentrated in a space smaller than a proton.

After this initial explosion, it must have taken a while for gravity to make matter clump together, eventually forming galaxies.

First, you have to know the actual Big Bang theory as opposed to the misconception everyone believes. The actual theory isn't that there was one large explosion and the universe was created. The real BB Theory is that the galaxies SLOWLY started the swell at different points in time. Thus, assuming that the Big Bang Theory is true, galaxies were formed before the actual "end" of the "big bang"

Since nobody was around to observe it, there is still debate surrounding the exact details of the origins of the cosmos, but it most certainly did not look like an explosion as presented in the above freeze-frame. There are some who say the origin of the universe came in a moment of extremely rapid matter expansion, aka the "Big Bang Theory." But the other, most common, camp is the "steady state" theory, wherein the universe has been expanding at the same rate since day one, and continues to expand at the same pace even now. Either way, though, both sides agree there was no "explosion." Instead the universe expanded like a balloon full of dark matter and other cool sci-fi sounding sciencey stuff. The main argument between the groups of physicists is basically how fast the balloon inflated, not whether the balloon inflated or exploded in a ball of fire.

The whole problem comes back to that really misleading name. So, what kind of jerk would come up with the name "Big Bang" if they were a smart enough scientist to know it was more of a "gradual swelling"?

Turns out it was one more opposed to the idea of a Big Bang than most. Fred Hoyle was an astrophysicist firmly on the "steady state" side of the great debate of the birth of life, the universe, and everything. He came up with the phrase "Big Bang" as a way to simply explain the viewpoint he disagreed with, intending people to hear the name and think the idea of a giant explosion giving birth to existence was ridiculous.

This was a gross misjudgment of human nature. As soon as he suggested there was a huge explosion at the birth of the universe, we latched onto that idea and never let it go. Hoyle simply failed to grasp how profoundly our species loves explosions.

Galaxies did not exist at or immediately following the birth of the universe because atoms did not exist until long after the universe started.

In another sense, galaxies formed after the BB because they certainly could not have formed before it.

Stars supposedly condensed from clouds of gas, but gases would have dispersed, not condensed, especially in a vacuum like space. Even if stars had condensed, there is no plausible way for them to have become lit. The only alternative is that God created the universe.

There is some debate about this. The closest we can observe to the beginning of the universe is some 300,000 years after the big bang. Various studies and equations have been used to explain the time before this, but even the most widely accepted theory can't yet explain what happened during the first 10-43 seconds of the universe. If I remember correctly, the first thing we know happened was the formation of quarks, which them formed subatomic particles; and the shattering of the four fundamental forces of the universe from one proposed 'superforce'.

Nothing could have filled the universe after the big bang. The big bang isn't true because no real scientific evidence has been found that provers it's cosmic event.

The previous sentence is about as true as, "No real scientific evidence has been found that proves gravity exists outside of our Earth." Big Bang Cosmology makes specific predictions about red shift of distant galaxies, the ratio of hydrogen to helium in all parts of our Universe, the existence and isotropy of microwave background radiation, the ratio of long-lived radioactive isotopes to their decay products, the distance to the nearest quasars, and the age of the oldest stars. In all of these cases, a failure of even one of these tests would cause serious doubts about BBC -- and, in all cases, observations support it.

Oh, and to answer your question: in a matter of micro-micro-seconds after the Big Bang, our Universe was as filled as it was ever going to be. Since then the density of matter of our Universe has been going down because space continues to expand.

The universe cooled down. We have no way of knowing what it was like before the big bang, so it is hard to compare before and after, but the universe did cool down and it expanded very rapidly and is still expanding today. Everything you see around you has changed since the big bang.

They formed in Nebula's when gas and dust came together and gained a ever stronger gravitational force pulling in more matter until nuclear fusion occurs.
