What happend to Muhammad when he was 40?

At the age of 40 years old, Muhammad PBUH became a Messenger & received the first revelations from God through the Holy Spirit.

On his way out of Mecca, Abu Bakr came across the Prophet as he was leaving the city, and asked the Prophet where he was going at that time. The Prophet Muhammad could not tell him other than the truth, and thereafter the Messenger of Allah asked him to join him on his migration to Medina, in order to keep the news of this mission secret until he is out of danger. With first daylight, the forty brave warriors set off in pursuit of the Prophet by following his track. They used an expert guide to help them track him, and the guide led the warriors to the cave of Thawr, some five miles outside Mecca, where the Prophet Muhammad and his companion were actually inside, but the pursuers did not enter the cave. It is reported that the pursuers did not enter the cave since by the time they had arrived, through divine intervention, a spider had spun its web across the opening of the cave, and a pigeon had placed its nest near there, after the two had entered the cave. The chasers did not attempt to enter the cave on the presumption that had anyone entered the cave, the spider web and the pigeon nest would have been disturbed.

Prophet Muhammad SAW was ordained by Allah SWT as the last of His prophets with the revelation of the first few verses of the Holy Quran through Allah's archangel Jibril as follow: Quran: Al-Alaq, 96: 1-8... "Proclaim! (or Read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created― (1) Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: (2) Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful― (3) He Who taught (the use of) the Pen― (4) Taught man that which he knew not. (5) Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, (6) In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. (7) Verily to thy Lord is the return (of all)..." This event took place when the prophet was meditating one day in the cave of Hira' (just outside Mecca) during the month of Ramadhan when the archangel Jibril appeared before him outside the cave. He was forty years old then and with the event was ordained as Allah's Last Messenger. Thus began Muhammad's 23 years of trials and tribulations in spreading the teachings of Islam with the Quran to his people, the Arabs of the Saudi Peninsula.

The last prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (May peace be upon him) used to visit Cave Hira and spend even weeks in solitude and meditation. It was there that the Arch Angel Hazrat Gabriel (AS) first came to him and revealed the first verses of the last heavenly Book the Qur'an: Translation:

Read in the name of thy Lord Who created; created man from a clot (of congealed blood): Read and thy Lord is most Bountiful, Who taught (the use of) the pen, taught man that which he knew not. (Quran, 96:1-5)

He was commanded by Almighty God to proclaim ONENESS of Almighty God.

When Prophet Mohammad turned 40 years old he was thinking about the universe and the world,he belived that this world couldnt be without a creator,so he belived that something which is great made this world,knowing that people at that time used to pray to statues and sun and animals..etc

then one day Prophet Mohammad was is "ghar hiraa" (which is a cave in Saudi Arabia now) he was there when great God sent Gabriel (an angel) to Prophet Mohammad telling him that he has been chosen to be a Prophet and ask people to join islam,and then Prophet Mohammad started to tell people what God told him to say,and in that time the holy Quran was been written by Iimam Ali" after Allah told it to Prophet Mohammad
