What happened to agent derek Morgan on criminal minds?

The team was after a rapest/killer when they desided to use L as bait to catch him. L remembering being shot by the fisher king was panicking and when the unsub came L pulled out her gun and blew her cover before there was any evidence against him so after an interagation he was let go. At the end of the episode L came to the unsubs apartment met hi. In the parking lot were L shot him in cold blood. The episode following that have a side story of what really happened that night. L claims it was self-defence but Hoggner knows what really happened but says it was self-defence as L says. L later feels very guilty about what happened and resigns. She is later replaced by Priness.

In season 2 episode 12 "Profiler, Profiled," Derek gets arrested for the murder of three boys. Morgan says he saw his father shot in front of him when he was ten trying to stop a bank robbery. The team finds out that he had juvenile record for getting in a fight with a gang banger Rodney Harris, who his old football coach Carl Buford and runner of the youth center Carl Buford got ex sponged. You find out that Morgan was the one who found the first victims body. Morgan escapes and goes talk to James. James is on the football team and talks to him about Carl. At the end you learn Carl Buford sexual abused Morgan and James, and that carol killed one of the boys. In season 3 episode 16 "Elephant's Memory,"Morgan and Reid shared some of their high school bully stories, later Morgan opened up and told him that during his freshmen year of high school he was 5 foot 3 and only weighed about 123 lbs. and got his butt kicked regularly. In season 7 episode 20 "the company" Morgan's sister Desiree sees a woman who looks like their presumed dead cousin Cindi. Morgan tells his family the truth about a lie he told them that Cindi was dead to get closure. The BAU reopens the case. In season 8 episode 18 "restoration" the BAU gets called to Chicago because, one man was violently beaten to death. As they arrived they were told that a second body was discovered. At the crime scene the words look up to the skywere found. Morgan told everyone that Carl Buford used to say that to him when he would molest him, and went into detail of what Carl would do to him. The team looks for former victims of Carl Buford. Morgan goes to see James. Who is the only other victim he knew. James wouldn't help Morgan. Derek convinces Hotch to go let him see Carl in jail. Carl tells Morgan that is new name is Mohamed. He tells Morgan how special he is and writes down the names of all the people he abused. "Mohamed" said he would give him the list if he shook his hand; Morgan ended up shaking his hand. Morgan went to the restroom after and threw up in the sink. They interview a potential suspect who told them that Rodney Harris was another victim who got it the worst. The team finds out that Rodney's son was molested by his swim coach who was the first victim. They track down Rodney's cell phone to his ex wife's house. When that arrive Rodney has his ex wife held at gun point. Morgan goes in the house and convinces Rodney to put the gun down. When they arrest Rodney and reporters come up Morgan tells the reporters that he was one of Carl's victims. At the end of the episode Morgan gets a call that Carl a.k.a Mohamed was killed.
