What happened to agent elle greenaway on Criminal Minds?

Elle was clearly traumatized after being shot by the unsub in "The Fisher King", she returns to work in "The Aftermath", a case about a man who comes into women's homes and rapes them. She goes undercover in an attempt to catch the unsub in the act, but she panics and makes the arrest too early. Since she did so, they must release him seeing as how they don't have any evidence. Elle goes to confront the unsub and winds up shooting him. The stress becomes too much for her, and she makes her final appearance in "The Boogeyman"

No she was under investigation of shooting a person with no real reason to have shot him. She shot the person that came and shot her. So she turned in her badge and left.
