What happened to the Bon Ton Restaurant in LaGrange Texas?

Apparently it closed and a replacement restaurant, called Mak's Roadhouse, has closed as well. What a shame. So many childhood memories of going there with my Grandparents. Can't wait until my children are old enough to take to LaGrange.

Not certain when it closed but in '85-'87 it was open and doing great. I was opening a small business in Houston, and my plant was located in La Grange. The Bon Ton was the place to go for a great meal. All the fresh breads abd bakery items were the best. When in town working at my plant, we would go to the Bon Ton sometimes 3 meals a day. Always got something different until I exhausted the menu(other than trying the Liver-n-Onions) The food was always great. Heck, the family would always ask, "When are we going to La Grange so we can eat at the Bon Ton?"

So sorry they closed up shop. So many people today missed out on a great local place.
