in California if you get caught with weed for the first time and its under a ounce they just give you a ticket, no jail time for the first time.

∙ 12y agoDepending on where u get caught, and how much you have on you. If u get caught with anything under an ounce(28 grams) then thats a misdemeanor. Anything above that the consequences are much worse.

possession 6 to 18 months
cultivation 9 to 24 months
possession for sale 18 to 36 months

∙ 13y agoThey will take it away and take you to jail. Getting caught with paraphernalia is a lot worse than getting caught with weed by itself (depending on the quantity), and you will have a lot less problems.
