I would say you're pregnant. The only other reason for your period to stop is menopause which doesn't start 'til your 40s. Also, it could be if you've had a dramatic weight loss, my weight dropped recently and my periods have stopped.

There could be many reasons for amenorrhea, iron deficiency could be one, polycystic ovarian disease could be another, contraceptives such as depo provera, stress, low body weight, excessive exercise or thyroid problems. Your best bet is to go to your doctor and get a physical exam and blood tests done. === === The prior contributor answered this excellently. I would add some ideas from a slightly different direction: From your bio, I understand that your blood work was in fact performed and, from the extent of it per your description, it was a fairly complete work-up. You need to get with your doctor and have him/her explain to you in detail what the diagnosis is. Note that amenorrhea -- the absense of your period in one so young -- is a symptom. You really should know what your doctor knows.

Nothing happens if you don't menstruate for a month, you just skipped your period. This can happen if you were ill or experiencing stress around the time you were due to ovulate, the body will attempt to prevent pregnancy when it knows you can't cope so delay ovulation and in turn thus your period is delayed too. The odd skipped period is nothing to worry about.
