Medical questions of this sort should really be discussed with your doctor. While it is certainly possible to stop taking anything, the question is, what are the consequences if you do? Presumably you are taking it for some reason. Possibly there is an alternative treatment that you can use.
i am taking escitalopran for two months 10 mg daily and i want to get rid of this. What the schedule to follow?
Getting off Paxil was a nightmare for me. Three weeks of hell. I suggest getting an Rx of clonopin just for this purpose! Valium won't help.
My aunt who has alzheimers just started taking depakote. She already was on Paxil. Dr decreased the dose of paxil from 30mg to 20mg. She takes both paxil and the depakote in the evening.
I have found taking paxil and lithium together makes me feel much worse. The depression and panic attacks became much worse. I believe the paxil after 11 years of taking it stopped working and turned on me as my Bipolar 2 got worse, then taking the lithium enhanced the paxil thus compounding the issue. I am slowly getting off the paxil which is a nightmare but allowing me to avoid more extremes in the future. Paxil ahs turned out to be nasty drug with more side effects than you can imagine.
No, and taking Paxil during pregnancy can lead to birth defects and even death.
I talked to a pharamicst today about the same question because paxil and stress has been giving me terrible headaches, the pharamisct told me that advil would be alright to take with paxil but if i were you i would speak to the doctor that prescribed the paxil to you.
Yes. You shouldn't have an issue taking vitamin B supplements and/or multivitamins on Paxil. If you're concerned, ask your doctor and his recommendations.Source: a relative takes Paxil and takes B supplements without issue.
It is not recommended to stop any medication without the direction and guidance of a physician, especially meds that are taken long term. Some meds can cause severe reactions if stopped abruptly. *Always discuss your health concerns with your physician.
If you were already taking Adderall, your prescriber might chose another antidepressant as long as Paxil might interact with Adderall (blocking its elimination). You might experiment very strong side effects in taking those 2 drugs..
Yes, what are you taking the depakote for? paxil is an antidepressant, the 2 combined do not sound too good, go to another doctor.
Not likely. While you're taking it you may find that your weight goes up or down, but that is a possibility with almost all medications. People taking Paxil will experience weight gain more often than weight loss.
Studies have shown that taking Paxil while pregnant can cause birth defects and premature birth. Paxil also passes into breast milk, so it should not be taken while breast feeding, either. Talk to your doctor and see if there is something you can take to help with the side effects of getting off Paxil that will be safe for the baby.
Yes. I'm on that combination right now. So far so good. My psychiatrist said that the Wellbutrin should cancel out the libido inhibiting effects of the paxil. I haven't been able to find anything online about this though.
Yes you can!! I have been taking them together for some time. Perscribed by my Doctoe at he V.A Hospital
