This is the classic acid plus carbonate produces salt ,water and carbon dioxide. Here is the reraction eq'n 2HNO3(aq) + CaCO3(s)= Ca(NO3)2(aq) + H2O(l) + CO2(g)
NaHCO3 + HCl → NaCl + H2CO3

The lead carbonate is dissolved in nitric acid and carbon dioxide is released.

If the carbonate is warm then it could cause a small explosion or shatter the tube it is in.
(Cu)s + 2HNO3 --> Cu2+ + 2NO3- + (H2)gas
MgSO4+ H2O + CO2
Copper reacts with nitric acid to produce copper (II) nitrate. In water, it forms a clear blue solution.

I did this science practical at school i added half a teaspoon of sodium carbonate to 20 ml of vinegar. It fizzed up then after about ten seconds went down.
Try it and find out. ROFL
Will obtain magnisium nitrate{Mg(NO3)2} and H2 gas
