If it's a normal fire, where normal everyday materials are burning, then pure oxygen will not put it out, it will make the fire burn stronger. Burning is a chemical reaction, and oxygen is a necessary reactant for combustion.
well, a flame needs oxygen to be a flame so it would just burn.
Nothing. Oxygen needs another substance to form combustion. If there is something else in the tube that is already burning,it will burn more brightly. A smouldering object will reignite.
The fire´s power rises.
a flame needs oxygen to burn so if you put a lit candle in a closed container (like a jar) the oxygen will continue to fuel the fire until there is no more oxygen and the candle will go out
put oxygen in a test tube put a glowing splint inside and it will have a squeaky pop sound
If a test tube is filled with oxygen when you put a glowing splint into it, the splint will relight. (To make the splint glow you have to light it then blow it out and put it into the test tube immediately.) Hope this helps. XD XD
The Oxygen that fuels a fire, is not able to get in, and the fire is put out. Just like with a candle snuffer. You put the snuffer over the flame, and the fire gets put out.
The alcohol sets on fire…
Its put out. The fire consumes itself, the oxygen flow has been cut off.
Absolutely nothing. In order for fire to exist, it needs 3 components; an ignition source, oxygen and a combustable material. Since there is no oxygen on the moon, the fire will never start.
Light a splint on fire, and then blow the flame out. You want your splint to be glowing red. Then, simply put the splint into the mouth of the the test tube, and if your splint re-lights up into a flame, you'll know it's oxygen gas.

You put out a sodium fire by depriving it of oxygen
Any gas will put out a fire except for oxygen or an oxidant.
Starves it of oxygen
The fire will be put out.
To put out a chip pan fireyou can not remove heat quickly enoughnor can you remove fuelSo you have to remove oxygen by smothering with a damp teatowel or cloth etc and preventing OXYGEN from reaching the fire.
Water stops oxygen from getting to the flame, and oxygen is the fire's food.
