The glowing splint will relight if you place it in a flask with oxygen. Scientists do this as a test for oxygen so if it relights, then that means the flask contains oxygen.
If you thrust a glowing bamboo stick into a test tube with oxygen it will burst into flames.
It will reignite
If only oxygen is in the test tube, it may burst into flame.
Oxygen will rekindle or relight a glowing splint.
A glowing splint exposed to pure oxygen will burst into flames because the process of combustion will be greatly accelerated. The glowing splint exists in a normal atmosphere comprised of approximately 20% oxygen. Think of the effect of fanning over glowing embers in order to restart a fire. You are 'pushing' more oxygen over the embers. Exposing a glowing splint to 100% oxygen has an even greater effect.
Place a glowing splint into the test tube. If the glowing splint relights, then oxygen is present, otherwise oxygen is not present.
It rekindles (flames up) the glowing splint..

Take a test tube and put inside it a glowing splint. If the splint relights, the oxygen is present. If not, there is no oxygen.
put oxygen in a test tube put a glowing splint inside and it will have a squeaky pop sound
OXYGEN RELIGHTS A GLOWING SPLINT Oxygen.

You can test for oxygen by placing a glowing splint (not lit but not out) into the test tube where you think oxygen is present. If the splint relights, that means that it is oxygen. If this doesn't happen, then in your case it will be nitrogen.
More or less pure oxygen relights a glowing splint, while air oxygen (20%) will not do so.
It rekindles (flames up) the glowing splint..
Oxygen would re-light a glowing splint
