when light goes into a magnifying glass, it simply reflects the air in the centre. E.G. if you points the magnifying glass at a leaf, a hole in the leaf will appears because all the light that was absorbed by the magnifying glass is reflected into the line of sight of the leaf.

When light travels through a prism, the different wavelengths of light bend at different angles causing white light to separate into the different colors of the spectrum. This phenomenon is called refraction.

The same phenomenon of refraction, or light bending, occurs whenever light travels from one medium into another. So when light travels through a lens, water, a prism, or anything else that light travels through, it bends based on the properties of mediums it is traveling between. These properties are generally summed up in the index of refraction for a particular medium

How are color and light related?

If you look at the sun you have the suns bright light, then get a magnifying glass and hold it up to the sun...Do you see colors(r.o.y.g.b.i.v.) Light and color are related because, you can bend light and that is how you get color. then again you can't take a paintbrush and paint and expect to get light so there you are the answer to your question.

What causes the continuous rising and sinking of the suns gases?

Heat generated at the core.

If the earth was made out of glass would you still get sunlight?

In effect yes because the suns light would be reflected of it, the nights would be lighter though as SOME light would get through to the other side

How does the sun affect the weather on earth?

The sun affects the weather on earth because the suns heat makes water evaporate from earths surface.

How does the color of your clothing affect the temperature?

The darkness of a colored item can determine how much heat it reflects, as well as how much light it reflects. For example, cars of a darker color, or clothing of a darker color, will absorb more heat than lighter ones when placed in sunlight. There is a basic experiment you can perform.Get a pair of socks. Dye one sock black and leave the other white. (Or simply find two socks made of the same material, one much darker than the other.)Put them on your feet and go out into the sun with them (be sure they stay clean!)Lay down, prop your feet up, and point both feet at the sun.You will notice that the black sock gets much warmer, much faster. Experiment with various colors. Darker socks should get warmer.White light (the light from the sun) contains all the colors of the spectrum. Light also carries heat. When you wear a white sock, all the colors of the spectrum are reflected back. Very little light is absorbed so little heat is absorbed.A black sock on the other hand absorbs all colors of the spectrum. So lots of light is absorbed and with it, lots of heat. Different colors reflect more or less light back. This means that different colors also absorb different amounts of heat.
