if its found early you might get away with just replacing the gasket, it could warp the head and will need a skim if an engine is run with a shot gasket you could seize the engine and the only remedy is a replacement, if its a banger and not economical to repair (labour costs ect..) sell as spare or repair and it will give you a few ££ towards your next car
it should be on the diverside of the engine or on top, you just pull it up, making sure you dont tear the rubber gasket
you will have a very oily engine engine compartment, the cover and gasket prevent the oil that is pumped to the valve rockersfrom escaping and hence drain back to the sump
Every one allways says thermostat, water pump ect, lets get to what they dont want to tell you...most likely its head gasket ,or cracked head..but if no water in oil its head gasket..you need to stop driving it before you do crack the head ...dont be fool by head gasket repair in a bottle..you need to do it right, and your car will be reliable again its not ruined its just a gasket..and it should not be expensive ,but it verys in price on how much you have to spend taking the engine apart to get to it...just dont drive it untill repaired right it is salvageable....good luck and it can be repaired sorry it happens..dont get ripped off
I dont know but you better find out
well you dont repair the gasket itself you just replace them.
is this a gas or diesel if it is a diesel , on top of engine is a pot with a black top unscrew this blck top remove filter. replace with a new filter and a new "O" ring gasket for top screw top back on start engine it it is a gas engine i cant help you cause i dont know where it is
Get a very good mechanic and dont plan on getting your car back the same day. Or buy a new gasket and remove the intake and diy.
i dont no ask your teacher
You may have a bad head gasket and it may be leaking from that. Why when cold i dont know, but if you are losing coolant it may be the head gasket.
no u dont need to use sealant u should get a gasket
by not starting do you mean not turng when starter engaged?obvious;y you have head gasket problems. if engine will not physically turn over like it is siezed. with bad head gaskets they have a tendency to leak coolant into one or more cylinders, when this happens it is called hydro lock, a engine cannot compress a liquid so the engine gets jammed by water in cylinder. if you want to save this engine replace what ever part gasket or head .hyro lock can bend connecting rods and crack pistons.thermo gasket i have heard of prolonging the expense of a real repair but thermo gasket cant be mixed with any type of coolant, only water so unless it is never cold where you live and you dont mind a gamble,if you like the car and the value is worth the repair fix it right. the car must be running for thermo gasket to work. they have a website for FAQ.
i dont know you tell me
