By "zebra striped pattern" I presume you mean the wave like fashion the sand is formed into in which light hits the crest but doesn't in the crevice? This is due to, from my understanding, the ebb and flow of the water. The sand almost mimics the waves above it.
Caused by changes in earth's magnetic field over time, especially reversals of the magnetic poles.
Plate tectonics and the way new crust forms over the mid-ocean ridge causes a zebra like pattern.
They eat algae primarily. But they also eat by filtering the water.
a zebra can run up to an average of 40 mph
Not very many animals start with the letter Z. So I decided to put ten different animals below that start with Z. 1. Zebra 2. Zooplankton 3. Zanzibar Day Gecko 4. Zebra-Tailed Lizard 5. Zebu 6. Zanj Sun Squirrel 7. Zebra Dove 8. Zeren 9. Zone-tailed Pigeon 10. Zorro =)

The pattern only appears in images of magnetic field intensity, not really visible. Caused by changes in Earth's magnetic field over time especially reversals of the magnetic poles. "Stripes" represents different ages of rocks as they spread from mid-ocean ridges. Magnetic properties of lavas are set when they cool down and minerals such as magnetite crystallize.
