What have been the positive and negative effects of colonialism in SouthEast Asia.?

Positives- building of infastructure such as roads, railways, buildings etc.

negatives- exploitation of people and resources (e.g oil) and an economy dependent on the 'mother country'- based on producing goods and providing services to them, it can also cause political instability after the country has won independance. Have a look at the Bottom Billion by Paul Collier- theres a nice section about how colonialism has influenced the poorest countries in the world.
