What education is required for horse training?

when a dog listens when you say sit, treat him with a treat while he is sitting. Like take a piece of bacon ( dog treats) while he is sitting and put it closer and closer to his mouth, , when he opens his mouth to grab it say NO!!!!!!!!! keep putting it closer and closer until its right by his mouth, then let him have it

dont keep on congradulating him every time he listens to you -- once after every trick is enough

if you are a dog trainer, you need to be able to like all kinds of dogs--no matter if they are cute or ugly---NO DOG IS UGLY fO!

puppies are the easiest to train but they do get to you

and last PATIENCE-- Dog Training is not a very good paying job unless you work in the cities--THE BEST PLACE. DOGS OLD AND YOUNG NEED TO KNOW WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THEM..YOU ARE.. BE THE BOSS and remember( you need to walk the dog , the dog does not need to walk you) !!!!!

There is no required formal education. Many trainers have ridden horses long and well enough that they aren't there for the ride, they become teachers/trainers. Many trainers have taken lessons or clinics to learn new ideas and techniques and then pick and choose what works for them.

However there are colleges that offer horsemanship or training programs. How much these help I don't know.

The horse world exists on Word of Mouth. The more horses you train and show and do well with, more people will be willing to let you train horses for them

I myself am a trainer and I have no formal education. I have read many colt starting and finishing books, attend a lot of clinics, ridden a lot of horses, trial and error.
