It does not necessarily mean you are not pregnant. You can have false negatives with pregnancy tests, but you cannot have a false positive. Depending on how long you have been possibly pregnant, the hormone levels may not be strong enough to be read by the pregnancy test. You can wait a week or so and take another test at home, or go into the doctor's office or planned parenthood office and get a blood test, which is more conclusive.

A home pregnancy test is not as reliable as a test given by a doctor. But there are other possible reasons for missed periods, too. It might be time to check up on things.
