Either the machine wasnt filled/loaded properly in which case you just gave Coke a nice donation because there was nothing to vend.

or

The product is stuck in the machine and generally gets released when someone else tries to vend that product but it may not necessarily be the next vend, it could be two vends later meaning the third person to use the machine will get 3 Cans/bottles depending on which product you were trying to get.

Why do I know this? I know it because ive seen a machine being loaded so I know how they work and because we have a Coke vending machine at work which does this all the time.

Why does the drink not freeze in a vending machine?

Because of the sugar content. People who buy drinks from vending machines want something liquid, that they can actually drink. It would defeat the whole purpose of the vending machine if the temperature were set so low that the drinks freeze. It is also true, as the first answer states, that carbonated, sweetened beverages in cans do not freeze as easily as pure water would in an open container. To some extent, these drinks come with their own anti-freeze.

How do I get a vending machine for my lobby?

There are vending machines that specialize in giving the equipment to your company for free (but they still own it). They provide all the snacks and you don't pay for anything. Look under the yellow pages or online for "Vending". You have several choices when looking to add vending options to your lobby. You can go at it alone and buy you own vending machine from places like sams club which have a whole assortment of vending machines which will then have to stock and change yourself. Or you can hire a vending company to come and install a machine and take care of it for you. The difference is of course cost. If you feel you will have a lot of purchases then buy one yourself. If you feel that it will only be used modeterally then you may want to hire a vending company.

Operating a Successful Vending Machine Business?

With the downturn in the economy causing record unemployment, job losses and layoffs, Americans are finding more creative ways to earn a living and gain financial freedom. Some opt for temporary and freelance workorpursue educational opportunities. Still others choose to strike out on their own and start their own small businesses. The vending machine business opportunity is just one of the many ways that Americans are finding ways to be financially solvent and take charge of their future.Every where we go, we see vending machines at work. At gas stations, in laundromats, in schools and in apartment complexes. The vending machine industry is recession-proof, and many people own vending machines to supplement or even replace their full time income. Vending machines work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and don't take sick days or show up late. They can generate up to thousands of dollars per month, and provide their owners with the ability to work part time, yet earn a full time income. The vending machine business opportunity is not limited to gumball and soda machines. Vending machines come in many forms. From machines that dispense change, to internet computer kiosks to machines that read your blood alcohol content, there is a vending machine for any interest. As with most commercial enterprises, having the right piece of real estate makes all the difference in the success of your business. The first step in enjoying a successful vending machine business is to find the right location for your machine. Place snack machines in areas where people will be waiting such as automotive garages, laundromats and doctor's offices. A massage chair vending business would find a shopping mall to be a prime location to bring in the big bucks. A vending machine that dispenses toys would thrive in an arcade, a pizza parlor or a movie theater. Many people who are interested in the vending machine business opportunity think that the market is saturated and that all of the good locations are taken. This is not the case. New businesses pop up every day, and the owners would greatly benefit from being able to attract more customers with your vending machines. Offering the business owner a percentage of your monthly profits also goes a long way in being able to secure a good location. The vending machine business opportunity can be a lucrative source of income for the right person. Adding Health Food to a Vending Machine?

Vending machines are frequently found at the work place and in many public schools. However, new federal regulations have been put into place that will mandate the nutritional value of foods placed within a vending machine that is in a publicly funded school. Many vending machine operators are worried that new regulations will cut into their already small profit margins.Market research has shown that sales of healthy foods are sluggish at best when compared to vending machines that sell snacks like candy, potato chips, and soft drinks. However, in order to keep a foothold in the lucrative school vending machine market, many vending machine operators are choosing to adapt rather than be left behind. One industry trade organization called National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA)is trying to get its vendors to comply with a set of nutritional guidelines. Any item that meets these guidelines will receive a special certification that can be placed on its labeling to indicate that it is indeed a healthy choice. NAMA calls this initiative Fit Pick and has worked with industry insiders, nutritionists, and physicians to come up with the guidelines. According to the Fit Pick program, qualifying food items would have to pass the 35-10-35 test. This new standard requires that all foods bearing the healthy label should have no more than 35% calories from fat, 10% of those calories from saturated far, and less than 35% of the item’s total weight in sugar. Their goal is to provide healthy alternatives in school vending machines to combat childhood obesity, which is an increasing problem that is plaguing today’s youths. Some insiders have called for even more stringent standards that would place restrictions on a food item’s calorie content and sodium levels.Industry insiders also suggest that owners of a vending machine try to add fresh options like fruits and vegetables. They also suggest that owners of vending machines that sell soft drinks should switch to vending low-sugar fruit drinks and water in order to comply with federal regulations.Although the initial changes may cause a drop in sales, profits are sure to pick up once children become acclimated to the new vending machine offerings.
