∙ 13y agoThe Hunger Games is set in the future of America where the Capitol ran the country. Every year there was a girl and a boy picked from each 12 districts and Faust to compete in the hunger games where the big rule is kill or be killed. Katniss Everdeen's sister Prim was picked from the reaping ball as the girl but she was only 12 and katniss was not going to let her sister compete so she volunteered to take her place. Peeta Mellark was chosen as the boy even though Katniss barely knew him besides from school she didn't want him dead. The Hunger Games is exciting in every way its got romance violence and it's the best book i ever read. Throughout the book Katniss experiences Love with Peeta Pain with Rue and Hatred with Cato, She is put through Misery, Torture and happiness. Katniss Everdeen is brave but in all three books she falls in love with both Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne and is forced to choose the one she loves the most.

She brings Katniss her food and answers Katniss' question as to if Peeta had survived or not. She answers her with a nod, and as she gives Katniss her spoon Katniss feels "the pressure of friendship". This is the last time Katniss sees the Avox girl until the Quarter Quell.
