Actually, he didn't have much impact. In his life he was considered a failure because he didn't bring back gold to the crown, he only found an island, and he didn't get the things he wanted from the Spanish crown. At the time of his death he was in a law suit with the crown and he had been shipwrecked for several years before he got back home sick. His body was also moved several times before finding a final resting place. It is only in modern history that he has been celebrated.

Columbus had a tremendous influence on history. It was his initial discovery of new land that led to the European exploitation of what later became known as the Americas. Think of him as a pathfinder to a new world.

Your obviously doing your history homework, right? You really should look this up but since I'm a nice person, here goes. The impacts that Chris made was the beginning of the age of exploration. He started the idea that the world wasn't flat and that anyone could sail to different parts of the world. He also introduced spices and tobacco (drugs and smoking) to the Indians. Although I don't think that was a positive impact. Christopher also showed the Indians how to use guns. Hope you get an A+!
