Concentration camp may be a generic term that has numerous variants. WWII Germany did not create Concentration Camps. That term evolved from the Boer War in South Africa. Soviet gulags are a variant that included no escape or permanent redemption simply because escape from the system did not grant return to society. The US Reservation System for American Indians was also a concentration system. The American Indians were concentrated on reservations. The process has ancint roots, it can be called a ghetto, a reservation or a camp. It is still a method designed to isolate groups, usually for improper reasons.
