getting a job using your identity then not paying their taxes so it becomes your problem
using your information to buy things such as a house, open accounts, get loans etc.
use your medical identity for themselves or friends or family putting your life in danger

I don't personally know because I've never stolen an identity, but I do know that identity thieves are becoming more more resourceful and are even baffling some law enforcement officers in particular cases.
