There are many factors that influence the colors of a sunset. The Earth's atmosphere and traveling light are the two key factors. The atmosphere contains many particles of dust and water, and light reflects off of the particles in all directions. The size of the particles and light wavelengths influence the colors we see in the sunset.

Because the atmosphere bends the light.

Colors enter the world by the sun. The rays are made of different colors but they have different tempetures so when they enter the world, they have different colors for different things.
Sure why not!
The tiny particles in the air affect the colors of the sky at sunrise and sunset because they cause the suns rays to change directions. When this occurs it changes the suns rays and causes different color arrays.

Sunlight is made up of different colors of light. Each color has a different wavelength. Aerosols scatters red or orange light towards you in the lower atmosphere.

colors with short wavelengths scatter more
That's backwards - the weather affects sunset colours not the other way around. The more air (colder, thicker, higher pressure, damper) the redder the sunset
Simply take the colors that you would like to be in your sunset and blend them in streaks across the painting. Add the sun or Cloud if You'd like.
