Heres a simple math equation to help figure out any precent of any number: 1 percent is equal to 1/100. Now if we switch the 100 for ten billion what would be in the numerator? That would be one percent of ten billion.

1/100 = x/10,000,000,000. To solve this multiply diagonally and divide horizontally. 1 x 10,000,000,000 = 10,000,000,000. Now divide. 10,000,000,000/100 = 100,000,000.

1% of ten billion = one hundred million.

In other words, how do you calculate one percent of ten billion. First, note that 1 percent means 1 per hundred, and 10 billion is 10 followed by 9 zeros.
