Sir William Ramsay was the Scottish scientist who discovered the noble gases. These gases are argon, neon, krypton and xenon. These gases along with helium and radon formed a new set of elements. For this discovery, Ramsay was awarded the Noble Prize in 1904.
William Ramsay was a Scottish chemist who made significant contributions to the field of chemistry. He discovered several noble gases, including helium, neon, argon, krypton, and xenon. Additionally, Ramsay identified and characterized the properties of these new elements, which helped expand our understanding of the Periodic Table and the nature of chemical elements.
Argon was discovered in1894 in United Kingdom by Lord Rayleigh and William Ramsay

The noble gases were first isolated by different people at different times for example Helium - Pierre Janssen in 1868 Neon - Sir William Ramsay in 1898 Argon - Lord Rayleigh and Sir William Ramsay in 1894
In mid-1894, Sir William Ramsay worked in conjunction with John William Strutt, Lord Rayleigh, on research which led to the discovery of Argon. They announced the discovery at the meeting of the British Association in August 1894, and in 1904 were awarded Nobel Prizes for the discovery. According to his Nobel Committee biography, Ramsay went on to discover Helium in 1895; and in 1898 he found Neon, Krypton and Xenon.
