Mr Bennet is an intelligent man , but his flaw is that he does not fully fulfil his role as a father. He didn't discipline his daughter and allowed Lydia to do as she please, hence indirectly leading to the foolish behaviour of Lydia's elopement with Wickham. Besides, Mr Bennet don't seem to be that anxious about his daughter's marriage as compared to Mrs Bennet, who cared alot for the future marriage of her daughter.
