Claudius is not indisicive like Hamlet is. Claudous decieds that he wants a kigndom and a girl. BAM He kills Hamlet's father and gets both. However Hamlet can't decide on anything. He can't even decide whether to live or not. "To be or not to be..."
There are many conflict between Hamlet and Claudius, the most obvious being that Claudius killed Hamlets father and stole the throne by marring Hamlets mother Gertrude(Only weeks after Old Hamlet dies). Furthermore, Claudius is seen scheming throughout the play trying to have Hamlet killed as well.
Hamlet's father has died, his mother has remarried the old King Hamlet's murderer, Claudius - Hamlet's uncle and is now king. The ghost of King Hamlet has returned to Hamlet asking Hamlet to avenge his killer. He has to prove the ghost of King Hamlet's honesty. And above all that, his friends turn against him and his girlfriend has betrayed him. Another source of conflict within Hamlet is whether or not to kill his uncle. If he doesnt he will enrage his father and dump his country in sin (cultural expectation was that if a king lived in sin, the country would be doomed to follow). If he does, imagine how his mother would react.
War... I think... wait... no Im pretty sure it's war... Well mabey not...Never mind...
"Bloody, bawdy villain! Remorseless, treacherous, lecherous, kindless villain!" I guess that about sums it up.
