The official state tree of Oklahoma is the Cercis canadensis, or Eastern Redbud. It can either grow as a large shrub or small tree, and is easily recognizable by its beautiful, reddish-purple blooms and pink flowers in the spring, from March to May.

The state flower of Oklahoma was originally Mistletoe, but since that is a fungus, the state flower changed to the Indian Blanket.
