Refer to the SMACNA reference for metal duct construction. The Pittsburg joint is used for most commonly fabricated metal retangular ducts. Most modern sheetmetal fabrication shops use a mechanized piece of equipment to create the Pittsbugh joint on one edge of the sheet metal that is being formed into a retangular duct. The Pittburgh joint is basically a series of bends in the sheetmetal that create a female joint that will accept the male end of the rectangular duct. The female joint includes an extended section of sheet metal that is mechanically or manually hammered over the male edge of the sheet metal once it is positioned within the Pittsburgh joint. It is much easier to understand when viewing a piece of flat piece of sheet metal that is being formed into a section of duct with a mechanized piece of equipment found in most sheet metal shops. I have created a Pittsburgh joint with a manual hand break for specialized duct fittings.
I hope the information has been helpful.

A riveted joint known as Lozengejoint used for roof, bridge work or girdersetc. In such a joint,*diamond riveting is employed so that thejoint is made of uniform strength.
Reverses the flow of refrigerant through the system so it absorbs the heat from the outside ambient air and then rejects the heat through the evaporator and into your duct work.
You don't. If the temp chances, the metal will expand and contract. There are tricks you can use: expansion joints and flexible corners that partly compensate.
cfm stands for cubic feet per minute - this is a term that describes the amount of air flow in duct work - it takes approximately 400 cubic feet per minute air flow per ton of air conditioning
RTRP stands for Reinforced Thermosetting Resin Pipe and FRP stands for Fiberglass Reinfoced Plastic Pipe. FRP is a composite material consisting of a thermosetting polymer, often a type of polyester, reinforced with glass or other fibers. Glass fibers provide strength and stiffness to a composite material. Different types of resins are used for the manufacturing of RTRP pipes, which are selected according to the required properties like chemical resistance, temperature resistance and mechanical properties. The properties of FRP pipes can be varied by changing the ratio of the raw materials. According to the type of resin used, FRP pipes can be classified as;GRP - Glass Reinforced Polyester (Isophthalic resin) GRV - Glass Reinforced Vinylester (Vinylester resin) GRE - Glass Reinforced Epoxy (Epoxy resin) Lamination Joint This is a restrained joint system used for joining plain end pipes which consists of overlapping layers of fiberglass reinforcement thoroughly impregnated with the resin to achieve the specified width and thickness. It provides continuity in both hoop and axial directions. It is generally preferred for field adjustments and repair work where no other joint systems can be used. This joint is also called butt and strap joint and it results in high strength and requires skilled labor. Once the core pipe is laminated and tested successfully, jacket pipe cut to exact length to fit in the joint area is installed. This jacket pipe piece is laminated with the main jacket pipe by the same procedure. A nozzle is made on the jacket pipe to carry out the air test and subsequent injection of poly urethane foam. This type of joint is applicable for all the available pipe sizes
Yes cooling requires larger duct work. Typically you would size the duct work for the cooling system and heat will work fine as well
If your apartment does not have duct work, the owner of the building has not had it installed. Perhaps they felt it would be too costly to install, or perhaps they are simply not interested in or see a need for duct work.
For round duct, measure from one side to the other, and you have the diameter.
what joint does the cruches work
I need to get some duct cleaning work done in an office building I just bought. Can I do this myself or do you recommend a specialist?
Diffrent color duct tape could work or sparkles.
Do I need special tools for hood duct cleaning? Is regular duct cleaning type equipment satisfactory?
The answer is quite simple, your duct work is not insulated somewhere. What is happening is the really cold air is blowing through the duct work and where it is not insulated, its causing condensation to form. It then builds up and starts dripping. You can either go to a hardware store and ask them for duct wrap or just buy a roll of fiberglass insulation and wrap it around and secure with duct tape.
I work really long hours but need to get my ducts clean. How can I find someone who does residential duct cleaning in the evenings?
It depends on where you live. You should either consult your local phonebook or type "duct work cleaning" into an internet search engine.
The duct work does not need to be different from the rest just because of the I beam. Just be sure there is room so you do not compress it.
u can google search it
