Salmonella can occur in poultry that is improperly thawed, in kitchens and on kitchen equipment that is not properly cleaned, in standing water, passed from people who are sick with it, and can be contracted by handling pet lizards, turtles, snakes, and other amphibians--especially aquatic types.Salmonialis is common disease caused by it which is usually called food poisioning .
