Sonic the Hedgehog is a video game character created by SEGA, as the mascot for the company. Sonic is a part of a highly successful franchise of the same name which consists of games, TV series, movies, comics and toys. Sonic the Hedgehog was created to challenge Nintendo's mascot, Mario, who had domination over the gaming industry. The storyline takes place on a planet known as Mobius, where Sonic the Hedgehog has to save his friends from the evil Dr. Ivo Robotnik!
