White blood cells, or leukocytes are cells of the immune system involved in defending the body against both infectious disease and foreign materials. The number of leukocytes in the blood is often an indicator of disease. There are normally approx. 7000 white blood cells per microliter of blood. They make up approximately 1% of the total blood volume in a healthy adult. An increase in the number of leukocytes over the upper limits is called leukocytosis, and a decrease below the lower limit is called leukopenia.

so, total leukocytes count help us to determine the no. of white blood cell........

TLC ranges- 4000 to 8000or10000.so if ur tlc range is below 4000 than consult ur doctor because precaution is better than cure...............:D

In chemistry, TLC stands for Thin Layer Chromatography. It is a technique used to separate and analyze mixtures of chemicals based on their movement through a thin layer of adsorbent material. TLC is often used to identify compounds, determine their purity, and monitor the progress of reactions.

Assuming TLC is Thin Layer Chromatography.

It works like other chromatography - the carrier medium (in this case the thin layer) will carry substances at different rates depending on their affinity for the solvent compared to the carrier medium. Known samples can be compared to unidentified samples. The similarity of rates leads one to deduce if the substances are the same chemical.

Why KMnO4 used in TLC?

KMnO4 is used in TLC (Thin Layer Chromatography) as a staining reagent for the detection of alkenes and alkynes. It reacts with the double or triple bonds in the compounds, forming a brown precipitate that allows for easy visualization of the separated compounds on the TLC plate.

Why is TLC a poor technique for the analysis of low boiling liquids?

TLC is a poor technique for low boiling liquids because these compounds may evaporate during the process, leading to inaccurate results. Additionally, their volatility may cause them to be carried out of the TLC plate, resulting in loss of sample and affecting the separation.

Why use pencil for TLC plate?

Pencil is commonly used to mark TLC (thin layer chromatography) plates because it is chemically inert and does not interact with the substances being separated. It also adheres well to the surface of the TLC plate and does not dissolve in the developing solvent, allowing the spots to remain visible throughout the separation process.

How does TLC help to determine the identity and purity of compounds?

Thin layer chromatography (TLC) helps to determine the identity of compounds by separating them based on their different polarities and interactions with the stationary phase. By comparing the Rf values of the unknown compound to known standards, the identity can be inferred. TLC can also be used to assess the purity of a compound by looking for the presence of impurities or additional spots on the TLC plate.

How many traditional areas of study can chemistry be divided into?

Chemistry can be divided into five traditional areas of study: organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and biochemistry. These subdisciplines focus on different aspects of chemistry and allow for a more specialized study of the field.
