This is a perception that each part of the situation stimulates the other to greater production than either by itself.

It is primarilly a phisilophical suggestion rather than an observation.

"Two hands are better than one" or "two minds are better than one." Both contain the

vapid assumption that each make a positive contribution when that is not necessarily the case. The suggestion is that "greater" may not necessarily be true.
