A descriptive investigation is a scientific investigation that collects qualitative and quantitative data which measures or describes objects or events. It includes a question, but no hypothesis; no variables are manipulated.
Descriptive research is also called Statistical Research. The main goal of this type of research is to describe the data and characteristics about what is being studied. The idea behind this type of research is to study frequencies, averages, and other statistical calculations. Although this research is highly accurate, it does not gather the causes behind a situation. Descriptive research is mainly done when a researcher wants to gain a better understanding of a topic for example, a frozen ready meals company learns that there is a growing demand for fresh ready meals but doesn't know much about the area of fresh food and so has to carry out research in order to gain a better understanding. It is quantitative and uses surveys and panels and also the use of probability sampling. Descriptive research is the exploration of the existing certain phenomena. The details of the facts wont be known. The existing phenomena are not known to the persons.
Descriptive research design is simply used to describe a situation and its data characteristics. It is used to learn about the frequency, percentages etc. However it never answers questions like what, where, how etc...which is done under analytic research.
It means that the experiment is looking for a connection between two variables. In descriptive experiments, you can see if two variables are correlated. The only downfall is, you can't determine cause and effect. For instance, in a descriptive experiment, you can prove that countries that have more saturated fats in their diets have higher obesity rates. You can prove that these variables are connected but you can't prove which is the cause and which is the effect. Descriptive experiments often use archival data (information someone previously gathered) to form connections between things. If the experimenter is measuring the effects of the independent variable on the dependent variable by manipulating the independent variable then a descriptive experiment will not suffice. I hope this helps.
a descriptive investigation is where you go into to detail on a certain subject for which you are researching or scrutinizing.
description.
In an Experimental investigation you are trying to answer one question. While in a descriptive investigation you are trying to describe something and comparative you are comparing one thing to another.
comparative data analysis is when you compare your data or results. there is 2 more types of scientific investigations, descriptive investigation and experimental investigation.
to ensure that the investigation meets the objectives of the investigation if the process in investigation were done properly and the end result of the investigation of the case is effective and efficient or a case is already filed in courts
The descriptive method of a thesis uses groups of individuals, phenomenon's, and ideas or theories. The main focus of a descriptive thesis is on providing and analyzing facts.
a valid investigation is an effective investigation i think. The results turn out to be what you had inferred.
In an Experimental investigation you are trying to answer one question. While in a descriptive investigation you are trying to describe something and comparative you are comparing one thing to another.

Because there is only one possible outcome.
According to the level of investigation, there are three kinds of research. Those three kinds are: "exploratory research", "descriptive research" and "experimental research".
