The Remington Model 31 was a shotgun with detailed machining and hand-fitted parts. This made it a much more expensive and time-consuming gun to produce when Remington manufactured it from 1931 to 1949. General "shooter" grade Model 31's--those with heavy bluing loss, damaged stocks, or other general defects, are worth what they are to the buyer as a "shooting" shotgun--generally $150 to $400. A mint condition Model 31 is highly collectable, and could be worth as high as $1,000 to the right collector. Like any collectable item, the final price is highly dependent on the condition and rarity of the gun, and how badly the collector wants it for his/her collection.
