A Turbo Separator is a product recovery system. It's an industrial machine designed to reduce landfill. It is also designed to recover products from packaging for recycling. A Turbo Separator will enable both the packaging and the product (where appropriate) to be recycled.

Turbo Separators are custom built for each application. They separate by centrifugal force such things as light and heavy materials, metals and plastics, liquids from solids, glass from general waste, gypsum from its paper backing in plasterboard, cans from foods, and contents from packaging when doing so by hand would be costly, involve health and safety issues, or crushing or shredding is not possible because the recovered product is contaminated.

Examples of Turbo Separator recouping in just the food industry alone (ideal for out of date or mislabelled products) include:

  • aerosol cans
  • bread in plastic wrappers
  • canned pet food
  • canned vegetables
  • canned fruit
  • canned meats
  • canned drinks
  • canned soups
  • cereals in bags and boxes
  • cream and milk in cartons or plastic bottles
  • gravy in hard plastic pots
  • chickens in plastic packaging
  • meats in plastic packaging
  • pet food pouches
  • powdered soup in packages
  • ready meals such as pies, curry, pasta products and many more.
  • sandwich packets
  • sachets of salt, pepper, sugar, etc
  • soft drinks/milk in cartons or plastic bottles
  • stock cubes in wrappers and boxes
  • vegetables in plastic wrappers
