it is a tablet that you can buy at most electronic stores. you plug it into the computer USB. It is basically an alternative mouse. you move a special pen just above the surface and the cursor moves, and when you want to click you tap the board. It comes with 3 different programs and a mouse to use on the tablet if you get tired of the pen. It makes it easier to draw on the computer and if you have windows vista it comes with this really cool journal program that you can write on. You can also (with vista) write in searrch boxes on this mini window that is always open discreatly on the side by writing on it and when it recognizez your writing it will enter it into the box. I am using one right now and it is really easy once you get used to it.
He used a Wacom medium Bamboo Tablet.
You can buy one online
The significant difference between the two models lies in the pressure sensitivity of each tablet. The Intuos model is much more sensitive--it has some 2000 levels of pressure sensitivity, versus the around 1000 levels of sensitivity in the Bamboo Fun. :)
Currently I have a Bamboo Fun and it works perfect. It also includes Photoshop Elements 6.0 and 7.0, Corel painter Essentials 4.0, and Nik color efex pro. Now the type for you can depend on your style. If you want to play around with the pen you can just buy the Pen tablet. If you want to use it just for touch you can buy the touch tablet. If you want both they even include one with both of the functions. The pen and pen&touch tablet only includes Corel Painter 4.0 and gets the job done nicely. You can also get either the Bamboo Fun, for what I said, or the Bamboo crafts for making scrapbooks and what not.
It depends on which bamboo tablet you want. The one I got, the bamboo pen and touch, came with PSE 7 for mac and PSE 8 for windows.
