Assuming that you know what a magnet is,t is a magnet shaped like a bar. it is like a rectangle, like the shape of snickers. One end of the bar is the North Pole and one end of the bar is the South pole.

If you do not know what a magnet is, it is basically a piece of alnico , ferrite or some other material that produces a magnetic field because its atoms are 'in order'. Permanent magnets are subjected to special processing in a powerful magnetic field during manufacture to align their internal microcrystalline structure.

It is called a Bar Magnet. Now to learn how it got its name. John Brindle created a magnet kind and molded it into a bar shape. That's how it got its name and what it is called
