Well, I am planning on going into the Literal Arts, and thereby I know a lot about the English language and its rules and ways. A character's perspective means what the character sees, such as first person, using the words I, me, and mine. Second person- uncommonly used, using words like you, we're, and me. Then third person, meaning an outer person, narrator, or observer, meaning they use words such as they, them, he, she, it. The word perspective itself sounds like perceive. The exact definition to perceive is to become aware of directly through any of the senses, especially sight or hearing.

Viewpoint in writing is how the story is written. First person viewpoint is written as if the character is speaking directly to the reader. Second person viewpoint (almost never used) is written as if someone is narrating something that is happening at the moment. Third person viewpoint is written as if someone is telling you a story.
