Example ; Water ; H2O . Structurally ' H-O-H '

The oxygen ans hydrogen electronically share their outer most (valance) electrons. This is known as covalent bonding.

Example ; Carbon Dioxide ; CO2 . Structurally ' O=C=O '

NB Mixtures do NOT share/combine their electrons in any way.
