You would use a broken bar graph, when grouping and gathering information. You would use straight, slanted, or vertical lines and showing points with dots. A broken bar graph is just like a line graph.
A bar graph and line graph consist of the information stored along the side and bottom lines. The difference is a bar graph goes upwards, whilst a line graph goes sidewards. A pie chart is a circle. It is called 'pie' because if you can imagine a pie with different percentages of slices cut, it would look like a pie chart. Hope this helps!
A double bar graph is just like a regular bar graph but it has two bars per subject. Like this:

A graph is like a bar chart and a grid is like a table they are different ways of presenting information like you where recording a what a lesson was called you would put it in a grid because its a word and you cant record words in a graph because you would usually use numbers for a graph.
im not sure sure but i think it is squares on paper and a graph then put the information on to it durr.... ;]
