Eagles that live near rivers or on a coastline mostly eat fish, and they fish in both fresh and salt water. Since they sit on top of the food chain, they are very vulnerable to toxic chemicals in the environment. The Bald Eagle also can be a scavenger and eat the meat off of dead animal carcasses.
