A Fresco is normally any of several related painting types, done on plaster on walls or ceilings. The word fresco comes from the Italian word affresco which derives from the adjective fresco ("fresh"), which has Latin origins. Frescoes were often made during the Renaissance and other early time periods.
A Fresco can also be a program developed by Ian Thompson over the period 1983 - 2006, to perform coupled-reaction channels calculations in nuclear physics. It uses Fortran 90 or Fortran 95 on Unix, Linux, Vax and Windows machines. Also it is the Italian word for "cool".
