Best Answer

a job or responsibility you must complete

***

Doing your duty means to do what you're supposed to do whether you like it or not, or even if you'd rather be doing something / anything else. As an example, a farmer might not like that he has to prepare his field when the weather nearly begs for a trip to the fishing hole, but his duty is that he needs to prepare the field now for his seeds to succeed.

Duty can be defined as a moral or legal obligation to perform a specific action or role, often based on principles of responsibility and ethical conduct. It encompasses the idea of fulfilling one's responsibilities and obligations towards others, society, or oneself.

Kant's concept of the "good will" refers to the intrinsic moral worth of an action that is carried out from a sense of duty or moral obligation, rather than for personal gain or self-interest.
