#1) I recommend Mermaid Curse by Louise Cooper -there are 4 books in the collection. They are really good and I've read the whole set over 10 times!
#2) The teen novel Forbidden Sea by Sheila A. Nielson comes out July 2010.
#3) Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs
#4) Sirena by Donna Jo Napoli
#5) A book called NaLee. Check it out! Mystery, mayhem, a private island full of secrets, and a sheriff to make your blood go cold start this trilogy off. Take a look and see what you think. Hopefully the previous two books will be out next year some time. This book (NaLee) is for pre-teen and up.
Some good non-fiction books about mermaids are "The Book of Mermaids" by Patricia Saxton, "The Secret History of Mermaids and Creatures of the Deep" by Ari Berk, and "The Mermaid Handbook" by Carolyn Turgeon. These books offer insight into the history, mythology, and cultural significance of mermaids.
No such thing because mermaids are not real.

Depends what kinds of books you like to begin with - whether it be fiction, nonfiction, romance, mystery, true crime, thriller ....etc.
Mermaids are not real so do not live beyond the TV shows, movies, and books that people make. They do not really exist in the world.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Mermaids don't exist.
Do books exist? - Yes. Are the stories in them real? - Some are and some are not. But most books are not real and most books are not fiction, so yes there are books that are real. for example if your in the library they would say nonfiction if they are real which it means it is real. if the self says fiction it is fake storys, they are a fary tale, made up.
Mermaids do not die from sounds. Some people believe in mermaids and some think they are not real.
Everything. It allows to be be exposed to new vocabulary. If it is a nonfiction book, it provides you with facts. Fiction stories often contain some facts, but with with some made-up ideas spun with it. Books let your imagination expand and strengthen. Sometimes they inspire you or implement an idea in your head. Fiction stories are always a treat to read, they let you explore foreign lands, times, thoughts and people. Whether it is fiction or nonfiction, books are made to inform you about something. Nonfiction tells you about reality and what happened or what IS happening; they tell you facts and statements that are true. Fiction books are about an authors idea, its made from their imaginations. Fiction stories state the author's opinions, thoughts and a created world. Summarily, books are made for us to read them and understand facts or opinions.
